Faith leaders criticize Fairfax school board for delaying vote on adding four religious holidays to calendar
Guila Franklin Siegel, associate director of the Jewish Community Relations Council, said the task force’s formation came at a pivotal time for Fairfax: when the county’s religious and demographic diversity were rapidly increasing, while school systems in the Washington region simultaneously faced an outbreak of antisemitic bullying.
“There is, due to the pandemic, a massive food insecurity crisis in the United States. And Montgomery County is no different,” said Guila Franklin Siegel, associate director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington, which is assisting the effort.
