The JCRC is proud to house the Washington Board of Rabbis (WBR) as a project under its umbrella. As a convener of rabbis throughout the Greater Washington DC Region, the WBR promotes rabbinic growth and development through ongoing opportunities for study, sharing, connection, and communal service. Membership is open to rabbis from all established movements of the American Jewish community. The JCRC assists the WBR in pursuing its mission by providing communications, programmatic, financial, and administrative support.
The JCRC of Greater Washington is proud to be a founding strategic partner of Tzedek DC, a non-profit legal services and advocacy organization whose mission is to safeguard the legal rights of low-income DC residents dealing with often unjust, abusive, and illegal debt collection practices, as well as other consumer protection problems. Drawing on the central teaching from the Torah: Tzedek, tzedek tirdof – Justice shall you pursue!, the JCRC provides consultative and communications support for Tzedek DC and partners with Tzedek DC on legislative advocacy in the District of Columbia.
