U.S. Correspondent
Nathan Guttman is the U.S. correspondent for Israel’s public broadcasting corporation (KAN) and has served as Washington bureau chief for The Forward, Ha’aretz and the Jerusalem Post.
He is also the author of Moment Magazine’s Jewish Politics and Power bi-weekly column.
His award-winning reporting has included coverage of the highs and lows of the Middle East peace process, the ins-and-outs of U.S.-Middle East policy, and the role of Jewish interests in U.S. politics.
Nathan has provided commentary on Israeli politics, the Middle East and the Jewish community on CNN, MSNBC, BBC, NPR and other U.S. and international outlets.
Before being posted in Washington, Nathan served as a senior reporter and editor in leading Israeli news outlets.
He is a graduate of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and a recipient of several journalistic awards for his coverage of American Jewry and his political writing.
Lucy Kurtzer-Ellenbogen
U.S. analyst and Senior Fellow
Lucy Kurtzer-Ellenbogen is a senior fellow with the Middle East Institute. Prior to joining MEI, she served at the U.S. Institute of Peace for 15 years where she directed its work on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. An expert in US diplomatic history in the Middle East, regional conflict dynamics, and civil society peacebuilding efforts, Lucy is a frequent presenter, author and facilitator in a variety of academic, policy, media and dialogue forums. She has worked with the Department of State as an Arabic translator and as a program officer for the Kennedy School of Government’s Middle East Initiative at Harvard University.
Gadeer Kamal-Mreeh
Israeli Druze politician and journalist
The first Druze woman to anchor a Hebrew-language news program on Israeli television in 2017. In April 2019, she was elected to the Knesset as a member of the Blue and White alliance, making history as the first Druze woman to become a Member of the Knesset. She was subsequently elected to the Knesset as part of the Blue and White alliance in the September 2019 and March 2020 elections. She left Blue and White on 29 March 2020 and joined Yesh Atid. In June 2021, Kamal-Mreeh became the Jewish Agency's first Druze emissary to the US, based in Washington DC.
