The JCRC strongly supports the adoption of an inclusive FCPS calendar with closures on days coinciding with minority faith religious holidays. As part of this effort, it is important that we monitor the effectiveness of the 2021-2022 Calendar, which includes 15 "observance days" in lieu of such closures. Teachers are limited on administering tests or test prep, introducing new material, and/or holding special events on these days.
In order to provide accurate feedback to the School Board on the success of this calendar, we need your input as to what worked and did not work for you, your child/children, and/or family with respect to accommodations for religious observances.
