About
DC Partners for Peace, inspired by the Boston JCRC’s successful model, is a new initiative designed to spotlight and support organizations from Israel and the Middle East that are actively working toward normalization and peace. This includes organizations fostering shared society between Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel, as well as those promoting peacebuilding between Israelis and Palestinians. This program will connect our local community with grassroots efforts that promote dialogue, cooperation & partnership. As we continue to hope for the return of all hostages, both alive and deceased, who are held captive by Hamas, and an improvement of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, we must support those working on the ground to sustain and rebuild relationships.
Vision & Goals
Through this initiative, we aim to:
- Highlight and support organizations advancing peace and coexistence through people-to-people initiatives.
- Empower the Jewish community to engage in grassroots efforts to build a better future.
- Strengthen ties between the Jewish community and local interfaith partners.
- Build relationships with individuals and organizations engaged in peacebuilding.
- Host programs and events – both virtual and in-person - with partner organizations.
- Incorporate visits to NGO’s into future DC-area missions to Israel.
Partner Organization Criteria
- To maintain integrity and focus, only organizations meeting the following standards will be considered:
- Proven commitment to a shared and peaceful future for Israelis & Palestinians.
- Not supportive of or promoting boycotts, divestments, or policies that undermine shared society.
- Engagement in cooperative development & economic/social advancement.
OR
- Dedication to cross-cultural relationship-building through education, cultural exchange & community programs.
All partnerships will undergo regular review to ensure ongoing alignment with these core values.
